DHS is changing the day that your food stamps will be issued.  Effective August 1, 2008, many Tennesseans may have to wait for their food stamp benefits, while others may receive their food stamps earlier.  What does this mean to you?  Plan for the change by using your benefits wisely  during July of 2008.  Planning ahead will prevent your basket from coming up empty. 

How will the issuance dates change?  Food Stamps will now be disbursed according to the last two digits of your Social Security number and will be placed on your EBT card on the date listed below.

If your SSN ends with:             You get your Food Stamps:

00 to 09                                     1st day of the month
10 to19                                      2nd day of the month
20 to 29                                     3rd day of the month
30 to 39                                     4th day of the month
40 to 49                                     5th day of the month
50 to 59                                     6th day of the month
60 to 69                                     7th day of the month
70 to 79                                     8th day of the month
80 to 89                                     9th day of the month
90 to 99                                     10th day of the month
