2005 B. Riney Green Award

Presented to J. Steven Xanthopoulos, Executive Director of West Tennessee Legal Services, Inc. and Jennifer J. Rosembaum for their inter-program cooperation and for their aid to otherwise strengthen the provision of legal aid in Tennessee.

Riney Green is a young attorney who works with the firm of Stites and Harbison in Nashville.  In the late 1990's he relentlessly led efforts in Tennessee to encourage the U. S. House of Senate to reject provisions that would reduce funding to legal services and increase restrictions on its work.

2005 Judge Wheatcraft Award

Presented this year to Jane Jarvis, managing attorney with West Tennessee Legal Services, Inc.

This Award is presented to an outstanding leader in improving access to justice for victims of domestic violence and ending violence against women through advocacy.  Jane Jarvis has served victims of domestic violence for more than twenty years.  She has enabled many women to see their available options.  Jane is known for her superior follow-through in making sure her clients are safe, know what to expect and understand proceedings in the courtroom.  Jane Jarvis' exemplary leadership and dedication are shining example to Judge Wheatcraft's legacy.
